About Our Community

MLKCH is located in Willowbrook and serves approximately 1.3 million residents in Service Planning Area (SPA) 6, a region that includes communities from Exposition Park to the north, Carson to the south and Huntington Park to the east. More than 90% of residents identify as Black or Latino.

Many South LA communities also face barriers that affect health, including limited access to primary and specialty care, higher rates of chronic illness, housing insecurity, food insecurity and fewer safe spaces for recreation.

In-Home Care

The MLKCH Home Paramedicine Program is a mobile healthcare service that delivers in-home care to recently discharged MLKCH patients across South LA. Health professionals visit the patients at home within 6 to 48 hours of discharge to follow  up on the treatment, referrals, conduct safety checks and relay their findings to the attending physician.
