Jeffery (Jeff) Walker serves as the Board Secretary of MLK Community Health Foundation. He recently retired after more than 25 years at Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), where he last served as Vice President of Customer Solutions. In this role, he led efforts to develop and deliver products, programs, and services to meet customers’ energy needs, overseeing key areas such as Customer Energy Solutions, Customer (Energy Efficiency) Programs and Assistance and Market Development.

During his tenure in various leadership roles at SoCalGas, Jeff spearheaded major initiatives, including the system-wide deployment of advanced (smart) metering technology across a 20,000-mile service territory. Before joining SoCalGas, he spent over 14 years in the financial services sector.

Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona, and a master’s degree in business administration from Azusa Pacific University. He also earned a leadership certificate from the University of Southern California.

An active community leader, Jeff completed training with the African American Board Leadership Institute (AABLI) and has served as the executive fundraising sponsor for the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Los Angeles and the Los Angeles chapter of the American Diabetes Association (ADA).

A lifelong Southern Californian, Jeff was born in South Los Angeles and has lived and worked exclusively in the region. He is married with three adult children and one grandson.
