Community Health at MLKCH

Supporting health and wellness beyond hospital walls

Through health screenings, education, mobile care, in-home services, street medicine, nutrition support and partnerships, MLKCH helps residents prevent illness, manage chronic conditions and connect with resources that support healthier lives.

About Our Community

MLKCH is located in Willowbrook and serves approximately 1.3 million residents in Service Planning Area (SPA) 6, a region that includes communities from Exposition Park to the north, Carson to the south and Huntington Park to the east. More than 90% of residents identify as Black or Latino.

Many South LA communities also face barriers that affect health, including limited access to primary and specialty care, higher rates of chronic illness, housing insecurity, food insecurity and fewer safe spaces for recreation.
