Tracy Donegan brings more than 20 years of diverse experience in the healthcare industry to the position of Chief Information and Innovation Officer at MLKCH. She’s held both leadership and consulting roles for large teams and programs in a range of industry segments, including freestanding hospitals, health systems, durable medical equipment, and homecare providers. Tracy has a broad range of expertise in strategy, business process transformation, consolidations, outsourcing, and large-scale system implementations.
Prior to joining MLKCH, Tracy was assistant vice president of the Cognizant Healthcare Provider Consulting Practice. She also previously served in a leadership role as vice president of strategy management and alignment at Apria Healthcare. Earlier in her career, after earning a Master of Health Administration from Cornell University, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, she spent several years as a manager at BearingPoint, one of the big four global consulting firms.
As CIIO, Tracy's vision is not only to support the hospital’s leaders in achieving their objectives, but also to assist them through new technology solutions that enable growth and innovations in the areas of population health, unique healthcare delivery models, value-based reimbursement, and consumer engagement. Shaped through her consulting background, Tracy’s approach is to promote sustainable solutions that are designed collaboratively through the subject matter expertise and insights of a multidisciplinary team.
Tracy dedicates her volunteer efforts on mentoring graduate students and early careerists. She is a member of Cornell University's Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network and meets regularly with applicants to Cornell University. She has been invited to deliver symposiums at Cornell University, the University of Southern California, California State University at Long Beach, and other universities. Tracy is also an active member of American College of Healthcare Executives, currently serving on the executive outreach committee, as well as Healthcare Financial Management Association, serving on the executive board of the southern California chapter during the 2018 fiscal year.
