Dr. Ram Raju is a healthcare executive and physician leader dedicated to advancing health equity and improving outcomes for underserved communities. He previously served as Senior Vice President and Community Health Investment Officer at Northwell Health, where he developed initiatives to address health disparities in vulnerable populations.
Prior to that, Dr. Raju was President and CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals, the nation’s largest public health system, and CEO of Cook County Health in Chicago, where he led financial and operational improvements. Throughout his career, he has championed patient safety, healthcare quality, and equity-driven policies.
Dr. Raju serves on the boards of several healthcare organizations, including the American Hospital Association and the New York Academy of Medicine. He has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” and “Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare.”
He earned his medical diploma and Master of Surgery from Madras Medical College in India, was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in England, and holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee.
