Susan Burrows brings more than 25 years of human resources experience to Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital (MLKCH). Her strong management background includes planning, strategy development, and employee relations services in both not-for-profit and for-profit hospital settings. Susan is responsible for human resources, organizational development, and change management as well as leading the efforts to build the organizational culture of the hospital.
Before joining MLKCH, Susan served as the vice president of human resources for Children’s Hospital of Orange County, where she led human resources, organizational development, and associate health for more than 3,200 employees. She also led volunteer services. She also served as the director of human resources for Kaiser Permanente’s Orange County Region, associate administrator of Human Resources for the Keck USC University Hospital and USC Norris Cancer Hospital, senior vice president of human resources for St. Vincent Medical Center, and Western Division director of human resources for Tenet Healthcare Corporation.
Susan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in human resources management from The Ohio State University. She’s certified in the Lean Six Sigma set of techniques and tools for process improvement and is a certified trainer for “Skills for an Empowered Workforce” from Development Dimensions International.
Susan is married and enjoys spending time reading and traveling.
