MLKCH nurses never stop learning and growing. Whether you are new graduate looking to elevate your clinical skills, to an experience RN interested in expanding your skillset, to a nurse leader interested in organizational transformation techniques, we have a program for you.

Career Transitions Fellowship Program

For experienced RNs, the Transition Fellows Program will train you to move into new specialty areas and to broaden and diversify your career. See information on the upcoming below fellowship program below. 

Intensive Care Unit (ICU): 8 week program

Acute Care Transitional Fellowship Program

The Acute Care transitional program is a great career development opportunity for RNs. The program is for nurses with one year of nursing experience that are interested in transitioning to the hospital acute work setting in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry Department. Our trained preceptors and supportive clinical team will help you gain the experience, skills, judgment, and confidence needed for a rewarding career in this area. Our mission to serve the vulnerable, yet appreciative South LA community will broaden your skills and expand your heart.

AONL Fellowship

MLK Community Healthcare is committed to developing the next generation of culturally-appropriate and transformational nurse leaders. RN New Graduates Residency

New graduates of nursing schools interested in gaining hospital experience in the exciting fields of MedSurg/Telemetry as well as the ED/IUC can apply to this comprehensive paid residency. Our trained preceptors and supportive clinical team will help you gain the experience, skills, judgment, and confidence needed for a rewarding career in nursing. Student Nurse Internship

Still in nursing school?  Gain valuable on-the-job experience through our year-long paid student nurse internship program.  Interns work part-time as patient care technicians and receive mentoring, instruction and six immersion experiences with MLKCH nursing staff.  Accepting applications July 1 – 15.
