I am delighted to welcome you to MLK Community Healthcare and our South Los Angeles community. Here at MLKCH, it is our mission to train skilled and compassionate Internal Medicine specialists, champions of health equity, and leaders in care for the underserved.
We feature robust clinical training at our state-of-the-art community hospital complemented by specialty rotations at our partner tertiary institutions. Our dedicated faculty lead a superb educational program anchored by a focus on the social determinants of health.
As a resident here, you will learn from, and contribute to, our longitudinal Social Medicine curriculum, our Population Health-based and community outreach campaigns, a primary care continuity experience in our Street Medicine program, and our continuous quality improvement efforts. Most importantly, you will develop meaningful relationships with our patients who, despite generations of disparate treatment by society, trust us to guide and counsel them in their most vulnerable moments, share their life experiences, and teach us invaluable lessons that forever enlightenourfuturepracticeofmedicine.
