Grammy winner joins growing list of stars to shine light and love on South LA community hospital serving the most vulnerable
MLKCH Moms and frontline workers received the surprise of a lifetime when Grammy-winning Billie Eilish and family (including songwriting brother Finneas) showed up on Mother’s Day to thank them with flowers and vegan food. The gift came via the “Support and Feed” foundation founded by Billie’s mother, Maggie Baird.
The singer, accompanied by her brother, her newly adopted gray pitbull puppy, and other volunteers, delivered vegan burritos and flowers and posed with staff outside the hospital entrance.
“Thank you for being in the frontline fighting for us to stay healthy & also, happy nurses week!!” the foundation wrote on its Instagram page.
Eilish and her family join a growing list of celebrities who have delivered shows of support to the award-winning community hospital during the COVID-19 crisis.
Additionally:
- The Wade Family: Gabrielle, Dwayne and Zaya Wade gave a substantial surprise donation and Ice Cube will be donating proceeds from a t-shirt fundraiser.
- Snoop Dogg, Zendaya Coleman, Roy Choi, Steve Aoki, NBA Stars DeAndre Jordan and Russell Westbrook, and Roddy Ricch have provided thousands of meals, snacks and drinks to feed the frontlines.
- Lily Collins via Bethenny Frankel’s BStrong Charity and Halsey have donated thousands of personal protective equipment masks.
- Elon Musk and Tesla have donated much needed medical equipment.
MLKCH is an award-winning, all-digital community hospital in one of the most medically-underserved areas in the nation. Opened in 2015, its mission is to provide high-quality and compassionate care to improve the health of South Los Angeles.
