Thanks to you and your loved ones, something good has happened!
For 10 days in the beginning of May, we ran a Mother's Day campaign geared at sharing the story of our hospital's quality and impact to new audiences both close to home and around the country.
Our "Thank a Mom, Help a Mom" campaign encouraged people to send a Mother's Day e-card to their mothers or other women. Each card sent generated a gift to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital (MLKCH), which provides exceptional maternity care to one of the most medically underserved areas of the nation.
What does “exceptional” mean?
- We work as a team: Every new mother who gives birth at our hospital is assigned both an obstetrician and a certified nurse midwife.
- We’re always there for you: At MLKCH our doctors are never "on call." They are on-site, with round-the-clock staffing so that no mother has to labor alone or wait for pain relief.
- We’re high-quality: On average, MLKCH’s C-section rates are half the national average, due in part to our unique, supportive midwifery program.
- We’re high-joy: From welcoming tours of our Maternity Department to celebration dinners (complete with sparkling cider) after birth, we love babies and celebrating our new families.
